TWO Huddersfield magistrates, Valerie Pace and Celia Mansfield, have received long service awards.

Val has been a magistrate for over 20 years and is a former chairman of the Advisory Panel which recommends potential new magistrates to the Lord Chancellor.

She sits in the adult criminal court at Huddersfield Magistrates.

She has talked to both Sikh Temples in Huddersfield the past as part of a recruitment drive to attract more magistrates from ethnic minorities.

She is married to Alex and the couple, who live in Edgerton, have four children aged between 23 and 33.

Val works full-time at Huddersfield Technical College where she is the coordinator for maths and English support.

Celia Mansfield sits on both the criminal and family benches and has been a magistrate since 1983.

She lives in Almondbury, is a member of Woodsome Hall Golf Club, and has been walking the Pennine Way in stages. Celia works as a book-keeper for a Huddersfield business.
