A PRIME development site close to the town centre has been put on the market by the University of Huddersfield.
The Riverside car park is at the junction of Wakefield Road and Kings Mill Lane, beside the River Colne and on one of the main routes into town.
The freehold site formerly housed the university's design studios. It is being sold by Eddisons chartered surveyors.
A university spokesman said the site was expected to attract interest from potential residential or commercial developers.
Eddisons are being asked to sell the freehold of the property as long as the buyer provides the university with 100 car parking spaces, either on the site or on an alternative site within similar distance of the main Queensgate campus.
