A MAN will stand trial accused of theft from a Huddersfield supermarket.

Desmond Michael Ryan, 55, denies stealing meat valued at £36.50 from Farmfoods in Market Street in the town centre on May 25.

He appeared at Kirklees Magistrates Court yesterday and denied the charge.

Magistrates determined the matter was suitable to tried by the bench and the case is listed for a two-hour trial on July 30 at 2pm.

Ryan, of Whitehead Lane, Primrose Hill, was granted bail with a condition of not entering Huddersfield town centre supermarkets.
