A ROYAL visitor was in West Yorkshire to officially open a Halifax hospital today.
Princess Anne, the Princess Royal, was at the Calderdale Royal Hospital, which serves Halifax and Huddersfield.
The hospital was the first stop on a two-day visit to the area.
She was later moving on to Mirfield.
There she is expected see the success of the Safe Anchor Trust, a project which helps young and old by taking them on canal boat trips.
Boats will again be the theme tomorrow, when the Princess visits Scammonden Water, near Huddersfield.
She will be the guest of honour at the Scout Sailing Centre there.
