A SCREEN-printing business which is a training unit for adults with learning disabilities is opening in new premises in Huddersfield town centre.

The firm, Footprint, puts designs on leisure and work wear to individual customers' requirements.

It is run by Kirklees Council's social services, which manages Real (Realistic Employment for Adults with Learning Disability).

Footprint's new home from Tuesday, March 1, will be 41 Market Street. It was previously at Riverside Court, off Colne Road.

The firm employs 12 people.

A T-shirt with print costs from £4, a sweatshirt with print is from £10 and a polo shirt with print from £8.

Clr Dennis Hullock, Kirklees Council's Cabinet member with responsibility for health and social services, said: "Footprint and the Real scheme provide real opportunities to help adults with learning disabilities gain valuable experience of the world of work.

"Real work for real people is at the heart of the service."
