A HUDDERSFIELD woman has been found dead in prison.
Louise Davis, 32, was serving life for arson and is thought to have killed herself at New Hall Prison, near Flockton.
She was found by staff at 7.30pm on Sunday.
Paramedics were called, but she was pronounced dead at 7.45pm.
A Prison Service spokeswoman said Louise had been found in a single cell and described her death as "seemingly self-strangulated."
She added: "Resuscitation was attempted, but sadly she was declared dead."
Louise was jailed after an arson attack at a house in Cartwright Gardens, Crosland Moor, in November 2002.
The spokeswoman added that Louise had been at the prison for two months and was on a suicide watch.
