PRO-life campaigners in Huddersfield are to stage an act of remembrance for unborn babies.

On Saturday supporters of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children will meet at St Patrick’s Catholic Centre on Trinity Street.

From 11am to 1pm they will form a chain of people as an act of witness to unborn babies killed in the 40 years since the Abortion Act was brought in.

Campaigners say that since the act came into effect 6m unborn children have been killed through registered abortions in Britain.

Abortions caused by birth control drugs, other devices and embryos discarded during in vitro fertilisation are not included in this figure.
