NEARLY 600 graduates were successfully placed in jobs in the region last year under the innovative Yorkshire Forward-funded Graduates Yorkshire project.
Graduates Yorkshire incorporates the successful Graduate Link recruitment service.
This operates on behalf of the Yorkshire and Humber region from the University of Sheffield.
It also includes the Impact project which provides specialist advice and guidance to black and minority ethnic students and graduates.
Employers can post details of full-time, part- time or temporary jobs, receive advice on legal, practical and training issues and access specialist services to recruit ethnic minority candidates.
Organisations that have advertised positions are wide-ranging and include IT companies, healthcare trusts and solicitors firms.
On average more than 50 companies use the recruitment service for the first time each month.
Graduates Yorkshire is co-ordinated by Yorkshire universities and delivered by the region's university careers services.
The initiative, which Yorkshire Forward has agreed to fund until March 2005, aims to increase the number of graduates employed in the Yorkshire and Humber region.
