THE party could be over for music and dancing venue The Pavilion at Fartown.

Councillors will decide on Monday whether to approve its renewal of a public entertainment licence.

But they will hear from residents, supported by local councillors, who are fed up with alleged noise disturbance from the venue and people leaving there in the early hours of the morning.

A report says The Pavilion, a popular venue for wedding parties and christenings, in Spaines Road, has held a public entertainment licence for music and dancing since 1982.

Hours have varied over the years but in 1989 the owners asked for permission for 9am to 2.30am. The hours were approved by committee on June 21 1990.

The latest application was received in January.

Members of Kirklees Council's licensing and safety committee will hear from objectors and the licensee on Monday.

A council spokesman said

recommendations had been made by the council's environment and transportation service to attach conditions which could abate noise.
