A MIRFIELD pub is calling on its customers to buy an extra Christmas present this year for children at a nearby special school.

The White Gate in Leeds Road, Mirfield, will act as a donation station, collecting toys and games for children at the Holly Bank Trust, a residential care centre for handicapped children in Mirfield.

Pub manager Colin Rigg will deliver the presents to the centre in time for Christmas.

He said: "The White Gate is a real community pub and both staff and regulars feel it is important to do everything we can for local organisations especially at Christmas time!

"Presents given through our donation station will definitely help to put a smile on the children's faces."

The Holly Bank Trust, Willow Court, cares for children and adults with complex physical and mental difficulties.

The trust offers not only a learning facility but also a home, providing a range of services that are unmatched elsewhere.
