LOVE is in the air in Upper Hopton as a landlord prepares his pub for a week of romance.

Peter Stocks, landlord of the Hare and Hounds at Liley Lane, is looking for the most romantic stories of how couples in the area first met.

In the week running up to St Valentine's Day on February 14, he aims to display a different tale in the pub each day.

The best story will win the couple a romantic meal for two at the Hare and Hounds on the big day.

Mr Stocks said: "We often hear romantic tales of how our guests got together and thought St Valentine's Day would be the perfect opportunity for people to come forward with their own stories.

"We'd love to hear from couples who have a particularly unusual tale to tell. For instance, perhaps they met as a nurse and patient during the war."

Anyone who wishes to share their story can fill in an entry form at the inn.
