ROBIN Hood, Little Bo Peep and Wonder Woman were among fancy dress walkers who raised £22,500 for charity.

Staff from Huddersfield's three Vintage Inns walked a 12-mile circuit to raise cash for Cancer Research UK.

They walked in support of colleague Ian Riley, who is battling the illness.

The 80 walkers set off from The Hare and Hounds at Hopton, stopped for refreshments at The Sovereign in Shepley and finished at The Foxglove, Kirkburton.

Retail business manager Lisa Cameron, who was Little Bo Peep, said she was stunned by the response the walk received.

She said: "We were aiming for about £10,000. I never thought we would get as much as we have.

"We have already got £22,500, but we think by the time it has all come in we may even beat £25,000."

Andrea Membe, of Cancer Research UK, said the total was magnificent.

She said: "We would like to say a massive thank you to everybody who has been involved.

A large amount of the money will be spent in West Yorkshire."
