A PUBLIC meeting to discuss the future of a recreation ground is planned for Newsome.

Community group Newsome Out to Play wants people’s opinions on how to make Ashenhurst recreation ground, between Newsome Road and New Laithe Hill, the perfect public space.

Clr Julie Stewart-Turner, who will chair the meeting, said: “I’ve been very impressed with the efforts of these Newsome parents.”

The event, at St John’s Church hall, on Newsome Road South, starts at 6.30pm on April 29.

Discussions will include the formation of a Friends of Ashenhurst Rec group and a planned play day on August 4.
