PEOPLE get their chance to view plans for the £200m Waterfront development this week.

The plans will be on display at Huddersfield Town Hall.

A scale model of the scheme as well as maps and architects' drawings can be viewed in the members' lounge from 12.30 to 9pm on Thursday and from 8.30am to 5pm on Friday.

Representatives of the developers, Ramsden and Colne Developments, and designers, DLG Architects, will be available to answer questions.

The Waterfront Quarter aims to provide 750,000sq ft of offices, apartments, restaurants, cafes, a hotel, a gym and a creche.

It will cover a triangle of industrial land largely occupied by Sellers Engineers.

The site is bounded by Manchester Road, Chapel Hill and the River Colne. It includes a mile-long stretch running alongside the river and the Huddersfield Narrow Canal.

Ramsden and Colne has been set up by Sellers directors to handle the development. If it goes ahead, Sellers Engineers will move to a smaller site.
