PUNTERS have been digging deep for charity.

Customers at the Queens Tavern in the Imperial Arcade have raise £3,000 for Kirkwood Hospice.

Landlady Vanda Dickinson said it was important for them to support a local charity.

“Everyone is always happy to help out,” she said.

It is the seventh year the pub has raised thousands for the hospice.

Punters helped to raise the money through the weekly lottery, raffles and Saturday breakfasts in aid of Kirkwood Hospice.
