YOUNGSTERS at Greetland Junior and Infant School took part in an art lesson with a difference.
Head teacher Amanda Bennett took a group of six-year-olds to Cake Decor at Halifax Piece Hall to try their hand at decorating gingerbread shaped like hearts, butterflies and dinosaurs.
The youngsters used sweets, royal icing, edible colourings and glitter - and were able to tuck into their artwork afterwards.
Cake Decor is run by Josie McGinnis, of Greetland, who formerly lived in Golcar. She is pictured showing a cake to pupils Rebecca Fairhurst and Sarah Hirst.
As well as organising cake decorating parties for children, she designs and produces celebration cakes for weddings and birthdays.
Josie said: "The youngsters really enjoyed themselves. They were all asking when they could come again.
"And they're looking forward to Easter when we will be decorating cakes shaped like eggs, rabbits and chicks."
