CHILDREN have spoken about improvements they would like to see in Huddersfield's Greenhead Park.
A successful National Lottery bid could see almost £3m lavished on the grand Victorian gardens off Trinity Street.
Kirklees Council's Labour group leader, Clr Mehboob Khan, asked for the public consultation period to be extended, as well as for questionnaires to be sent to children at Royds Hall High School at Paddock and Paddock Junior, Infant and Nursery School.
He said: "I am very pleased with the excellent response from local people on the plans to revamp the park."
He said one of the most interesting suggestions involved a request for specialised play equipment which could be used by wheelchair users, as well as able-bodied children.
Clr Mohan Sokhal, Labour councillor for Paddock, said children were major users of the park and deserved to have their views heard.
He added: "Young people are the future of the park and we are keen to encourage their involvement and participation."
