A THIEF asked an elderly shopper to help him - and then stole her purse.
The 82-year-old woman from Bradley was browsing in W H Smith's in Huddersfield town centre when the man approached her at 1.30pm yesterday.
He asked her to read the title of a book to him, but when she did he stole her purse and walked away.
He was Asian, aged about 30, and tall. The blue leather purse contained £25 and a bus pass.
