TWO off-road racers from Huddersfield are facing their biggest - and coldest - challenge yet.
Alan Bromley and Paul Taylor, pictured, are in the deep snow of the French Alps.
They are taking part in the internationally- acclaimed Croisiere Blanche.
The four-day end- urance event takes place in sub-zero temperatures across the perilous mountain terrain.
Mr Bromley, 53, said: "It's something I've wanted to do for several years and thought if I don't do it now I never will."
He added: "For us this is just fun. We both work very hard and are fortunate to be in a position to be able to do something like this."
Both men are All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) enthusiasts and are competing on Kawasaki's new KVF700-A.
"Over the years, I've been a big 4x4 enthusiast and have several off-road vehicles," Mr Bromley said.
"The KVF700-A is a phenomenal machine, and will go virtually anywhere.
"We're both actually looking forward to showing what they can do in these conditions."
The pair, who took part in three end- urance races last year, are also competing to raise money for the Kirkwood Hospice in Huddersfield.
The two competitors are business colleagues and friends and are expected home this week.
