A CHARITY event has raised more than £2,000 for Cancer UK.
More than 150 people turned up to the evening event at Birchencliffe Cricket Club to take part in an auction, raffle and free disco.
Auction items donated by local businesses included a signed Huddersfield Giants rugby ball, a TV and hair and beauty vouchers.
The fundraiser was organised by Melissa Rice whose mother June suffered with cancer.
She promoted it using Facebook and by putting up posters in local shops.
