RAM-raiders escaped with a cash machine in an attack on a Berry Brow shop.
The thieves used a stolen van to smash their way through steel shutters at the Costcutter store on Waingate just after 2am today.
They then dragged the cash machine out through the wreckage, loaded it into a large four-wheeled drive vehicle which sped off towards Armitage Bridge.
A 23-year-old man was later arrested in Bradford and was due to be questioned at Huddersfield police station today.
The blue and white Transit van left at the scene had been stolen from outside the Beaumont Arms pub on Meltham Road, Netherton, shortly before the raid.
It was left at the scene and had cauased damaged to the shop estimated at around £5,000.
Sgt Tim O'Sullivan, of Huddersfield police, said: "Did anyone see the van being stolen or driven to the scene or did anyone see the getaway car being driven away afterwards?"
