The prom season is now underway ... and here is one of the first.

Rastrick High went for a Bugsby Malone themed party when they celebrated finishing school with their night to remember at Bertie’s Banqueting Rooms in Elland.

Around 200 year 11 pupils and 70 sixth form leavers from Rastrick High School on Field Top Road danced the night away.

The night featured a three course meal, awards ceremony and DJ.

The awards included titles such as best comedy double act and prom king and queen.

Rastrick post-16 development mentor Taylor Pearson said: “It was a nice way to reward them for all their hard work during their exams.

“They all looked fabulous.”

Bugsy Malone was a 1976 British musical gangster film directed by Alan Parker and featuring only child actors. It was set in New York and loosely based on events from the early 1920s to 1931 during Prohibition.
