STUDENTS will be on-song at their silver jubilee concert.

Rastrick High School pupils will take to the stage at Huddersfield Town Hall on Monday, April 11, for a musical extravaganza.

And for the event, they have revived the partnership between the Field Top Road school and year five pupils at Fixby, Woodhouse, Longroyde, Field Lane and Carr Green junior schools to form a massed choir.

The concert will also feature the several RHS bands – the concert band, big band, junior singers, senior choir, guitar ensemble, guitar quartet and string ensemble.

Plus there will be a performance from the school’s current junior and senior young musician of the year, Lydia Wyatt (flute) and Aidan Edwards, who will return from his vocal studies course at the Royal Northern College of Music to take part.

Jonathan Marriott, assistant director of music at Rastrick, said: “This should be a great concert but we obviously need a substantial audience to fill the elegant surroundings of Huddersfield Town Hall so please support us by bringing along as many people as you can.”
