A CHILDREN’S charity is enjoying a cash windfall after bank staff staged a fundraiser.

Staff from the Huddersfield, Wakefield, Halifax and Bradford branches of the Royal Bank of Scotland raised over £500.

Each branch was given £10 to turn into as much cash as they could.

They raised the extra money by putting together food and gift hampers and selling raffle tickets for them to customers.

The money was given to Northorpe Hall Child and Family Trust, which supports the emotional well-being and mental health of children and young people in Kirklees.

Staff were moved to support the Mirfield-based charity after hearing it faces thousands of pounds worth of funding cuts this year.

Sharon Walker, customer service officer for the Wakefield branch, said: “It was so well supported from managers, staff and customers.”
