EIGHTY women will be putting in some last-minute training in Greenhead Park this evening.
All are preparing to run Sunday's women-only five-kilometre Race For Life, in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Some 2,500 women will take part in the Huddersfield event.
They will be joined by many thousands more nationwide in the huge fundraising event, which starts at 11am at venues around the country and raises thousands of pounds for the charity.
Over the last nine weeks Louise Taylor, physical activities development officer for Kirklees Council culture and leisure services, has been putting a group of women through their paces in preparation for the event.
"They've all done really well. I've been really impressed with their commitment and determination," she said.
About 240 women have joined the training sessions over the past few weeks, ranging in age from 16 to 50-plus.
Last week they raced the exact route for Sunday's race for the first time.
Many of those who take part do so in memory of a relative who died of cancer.
