ILLUSIONIST David Knight has a new assistant.
And Rebecca Holt admitted to having a few "first night nerves" before her initial show.
Nineteen-year-old Rebecca took centre stage alongside David at the Chicago Rock Cafe in Kirkgate, Huddersfield, where he is a regular performer.
Rebecca read about David's search for a new assistant in the Examiner a couple of months ago.
"I knew his last assistant, Caroline. We were at All Saints' High School together.
"We chatted about the job and I thought I'd like to give it a try," said Rebecca, of Netherton.
She is so keen on the idea that she has taken a year out of her studies to tour alongside David.
She recently completed A-levels in psychology, biology, English language and general studies in Halifax.
Rebecca is a former dancer and modelled with Huddersfield's Louise Morton agency.
Her mother, Glenys, who is also a dancer, was on hand to support her.
David, 27, of Crosland Moor, appealed for a new assistant to work on a series of new cruise ship and holiday resort contracts.
The act, Dreamscape, is a series of five illusions. They include sawing an assistant in two and sealing her together with fire.
