HUDDERSFIELD business people have been urged to learn potential life-saving skills.

The British Red Cross is holding a two-hour free course, starting at 10am on Friday, December 16, at The Deighton Centre, off Deighton Road.

Candidates completing the Save-a-Life course will get a certificate.

Red Cross spokes- woman Annette Holmes said many small firms did not have a qualified first-aider.

This is despite the fact that research showed that employers who encouraged first aid skills in the workplace had better staff retention rates and more confident and motivated workers.

To book for the course call 0870 1709110.
