Red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning!

Red and orange hues filled Huddersfield's skies this morning as the town enjoyed a beautiful sunrise.

A few people were up with the lark, early enough to see the sun come up in West Yorkshire - and sent us these stunning pictures.

Snaps show the red skies looming above the town centre, University of Huddersfield Campus, Marsh and Golcar.

Baldwin Jackson captured a spectacular shot of birds flying around the Emley Moor Mast as the sun began to make an appearance.

The colourful skies were a pleasant start to Monday morning - but clouds and showers are predicted for the rest of the day.

Last week's morning fog also created some super landscapes around Huddersfield, and some were captured by keen photographer Andrew Whitwam, of Huddersfield - including a stunning image of the tower on Castle Hill rising out of the fog.
