RELIGIOUS groups are holding a series of events to mark National Interfaith Week.

Emmerdale actor Kitty McGeever, who plays Lizzie Lakely, will take part in a debate next Tuesday.

She will discuss religion with broadcaster and politician Ajmal Masroor at the University of Huddersfield’s Canalside West Building from 6.30pm.

Kirklees Faiths Forum has organised other events for next week, including an open day at Hanfia Mosque in Lockwood from 11am to 3pm.

Mohammad Imran, who will host the open day, said: “We are really excited to be part of this national initiative which is a great way for people of any faith or no faith to learn, understand and celebrate the differences as well as commonalities shared between our communities.”
