They’ve marched through town before, now the Yorkshire Regiment have performed at Huddersfield Town Hall.

And the regiment band’s concert was not all marching music.

The Festival of Remembrance concert also featured music from well-known films including Lawrence of Arabia, Schindler’s List and Last of the Mohicans.

The band also played “Rat Pack” tunes celebrating what would have been Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday.

Special guests included the Scots Guards Association Pipers, violinist Mark Ostyn and organist Dr Gordon Stewart.

The event also saw poppy petals released from the concert hall ceiling during the silence to mark the upcoming remembrance service.

The event raised money for three charities: the Mayor of Kirklees' chosen charity - Diabetes UK, The Royal British Legion and Yorkshire Regiment Benevolent Trust.
