A LONG lost reservoir path has been cleared – thanks to the efforts of volunteers.

The path at Scammonden reservoir was hidden by dense undergrowth and holly trees for many years until a team rolled up their sleeves to tackle the project.

The work – led by Samuel Bolton of the River Colne project – saw more than 150 metres of brambles, weeds, holly bushes, reeds and rubbish cleared.

A way-marker post was also put up by the volunteers to direct walkers along paths in the area.

Volunteers are also needed for other countryside projects in the area.
