BRIGHOUSE High School has held its annual awards ceremony.

Academic prizes, GCSE certificates, A level and AS level certificates were handed out to pupils who left school in July.

Headteacher Graham Soles said the exam results had been the school's best ever.

Around 67% of the school's Year 11 pupils achieved five or more A-C grade GCSEs, beating last year's total by 9%.

The overall A level pass rate was 98%, the highest ever at Brighouse High, and there were 100% pass rates in many subjects.

The school - which received business and enterprise college status two years ago - has started work on its new training and enterprise centre.

There will be a lecture theatre for 150, seminar rooms, a commercial kitchen and luxury apartments.

Mr Soles said: "Brighouse High has enjoyed another highly successful year."
