A CONTINENTAL flavour returns to Huddersfield this week.

The town plays host to the European Market from tomorrow until Tuesday, September 23.

It will be set up on New Street and will be open every day offering shoppers a taste of something a little different with a continental flavour.

The German beer house with outdoor seating will be located at the end of New Street, opposite Marks and Spencer’s.

The beer garden will open until 8pm each evening.

The market itself will sell a range of European goods including Dutch cheese, German sausages, Haribo sweets, handmade English soap, fresh German pancakes, beautiful scarves and pashminas, ornamental flowers and vases, jewellery and much more.

Clr Ken Sims, Cabinet member for regeneration, said: “This market is always popular as it offers something a little different with the beer garden.

“Last year it was great to see shoppers spending time in the town centre, sitting, talking and enjoying the event.

“The variety of our town centres is what keeps shoppers returning, and these markets ensure we are always offering something different to the standard high street or out of town centres.”
