AN inquest has been opened on a Huddersfield woman found dead in the River Calder.
Coroner Roger Whittaker opened an inquest on 52-year-old Norma Lafferty in Huddersfield yesterday.
Ms Lafferty, of West Street, Lindley, was found dead on April 15 by a man rowing on the river near Armytage Road in Brighouse.
Ms Lafferty had been reported missing by her 30-year-old son Leo last November.
She had last been seen by her father, Lawrence Robertshaw, on September 24.
She had taken a taxi to his home in Clifton then gone for a walk at Clifton Common.
The inquest has been adjourned.
