Roadworks cause delays at busy Birkby crossroads

Gas mains replacement work means temporary traffic lights brought in

Roadworks are causing delays in Birkby.

Northern Gas Networks have confirmed that work is under way at a busy crossroads and will mean delays for drivers.

The roadworks began towards the end of last week and look set to continue throughout this week.

The company are in the process of spending hundreds of thousands of pounds replacing ageing iron gas mains with new, safe plastic pipes.
