A MAN who ripped a ring off the finger of a woman in Dalton will be sentenced on Tuesday.

Geoffrey Mohammed Bostan, 46, of Beeston, Leeds, pleaded guilty. Leeds Crown Court heard he approached the woman, beat her and ripped a ring from her finger, leaving her with serious injuries to her face.

The attack happened on April 8, 2008.

Bostan will also be sentenced at the court for five other offences in the West Yorkshire area, including one of possession of a loaded Glock 17 semi-automatic pistol.

On that occasion he was wrestled to the ground and arrested by unarmed officers in Leeds city centre.

He had been pursued in a car which had earlier rammed a police vehicle in Armley. He pleaded guilty to all offences at a previous hearing.
