A MAN and his three-year-old son walking in Greenhead Park were robbed by a man using his Pitbull dog as a weapon.

On Friday at 12:30pm, the 25-year-old man was walking in the park with two friends and his little boy when he was approached by a man who had a large red-nosed Pitbull dog with him.

The suspect asked the man what he had for him.

The victim refused to give the suspect anything but was threatened further by the robber who also asked the man if he wanted to, 'fight his dog?'

At this point, fearing for his safety, the 25-year-old handed over his wallet.

The suspect was described as a mixed race man, around 18-years-old and around 5ft 8ins tall. He was slim, with a drawn appearance, short black hair and stubble on his chin.

He was wearing a dark blue-green hooded top with green writing on the left shoulder and arm and dark grey jogging bottoms.

The dog he had was a red-nosed Pitbull that was dark brown with a white patch over one eye and some white patches on its rear.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the robbery, or anyone with any information to contact DC Shaun Lewis at Huddersfield CID on 01484 436665 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
