LEEDS rock band Being 747 wore labcoats and goggles for their educational programme Amoeba to Zebra at Shelley College.

The trio call their show “a natural history musical 4.6 billion years in the making” and it describes major events in global evolution through infectious pop tunes.

The set was performed against a backdrop of imaginative and informative animations tailored to each track.

They also used a range of props crafted by band members, including a giant sea scorpion, microphone stand and both insect and amphibian headgear.

The audience of mainly post-16 students was able to ask questions about the set and show, which covered the major concepts in biology and science.
