AN EASTER egg hunt, donkey rides and face painting will be included in the fun at a charity event this weekend.

A family fun day is being held at Broad Oak bowling club, Linthwaite, tomorrow (Sunday) to raise money for Ruddi’s Retreat – a charity inspired by a brave Longwood toddler.

Ruddi was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer when he was just six months old.

But after undergoing surgery and numerous cancer treatments, the youngster is now in remission.

His family set-up the charity to help other families with sick children by offering them free seaside holidays.

It has just been able to purchase its first holiday home near Filey.

The free fun day starts at 1pm and will include a bouncy castle, rides, craft and food stalls.

Volunteers also rolled up their sleeves recently to raise £714 for Ruddi's Retreat.

An army of 20 helpers packed shopping bags at Morrison’s supermarket at Waterloo.
