RUNNERS have raced against a train.
About 50 people took on the Badger steam train over the four-mile course from Shelley Station to Clayton West Station.
Tuesday’s event was organised by the Denby Dale Travellers’ Running Club and Kirklees Light Railway.
Ralph Barker won the race with a time of about 24 minutes. Five other runners finished ahead of the Badger.
Andrew Hurd, of Kirklees Light Railway, said: “The event went really well, it was a great race.”
