KIRKLEES Primary Care Trust has won an award for health and safety.

The PCT has been given one of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents’ Occupational Health and Safety Awards.

The bronze award recognises good health and safety management.

It will be presented at a gala dinner at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel on May 13, tied with the Safety and Health Expo 2008, which will be on at the National Exhibition Centre.

Chris Bedford, health and safety risk manager at the trust, said: “We want to ensure a safe and secure environment for all our staff and patients. We are delighted that the hard work and commitment from our staff has been recognised with this award.

“It is our aim to continue to further improve our safety culture and we will build on this success throughout the coming year.”
