VULNERABLE people are set to benefit from new home safety services to be launched by Kirklees Council.
New equipment will be on offer in addition to the successful carephones which have been in operation for several years.
The products are designed to help when someone has a fall, a carbon monoxide gas leak, a flood or fire or just needs some reassurance.
Equipment which will be available includes smoke detectors, flood detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, fall detectors and infrared movement detectors.
Clr Margaret Bates, the council's cabinet member for adult and social services said: "We're very excited about expanding our already successful carephone service.
"We hope to help even more people to remain independent in their own home, while feeling safe and secure in the reassur- ance that help is on hand should they need it."
The products will be linked to a control centre operating around the clock every day.
Many people can have items of equipment free or at a reduced rate after completing a personal financial statement.
