FIREFIGHTERS had to rescue St Patrick on St Patrick's Day ... from St Patrick's Catholic Centre.
The crew was called to the centre on Trinity Street at 11.40 last night after a lift became stuck between two floors.
Watch Manager Alan Woodcock, of Huddersfield fire station, said: "We had to wind the lift up and when the door opened we were faced by four people - and one of them was dressed as St Patrick. He had a staff and everything.
"As soon as the door opened he said `I bet you've never had to rescue St Patrick before."
"It cracked us up and really made our night!"
