THEY could be the next S Club Juniors or Spice Girls.

For budding pop stars CAESER are just one step from reaching the final of a national talent contest.

The group of youngsters from Salendine Nook High School have reached the area finals of the Open Mic UK competition after impressing judges with their rendition of US rock outfit Paramore’s hit Misery Business.

The aspiring group is made up of Laura Turner, Aimee Shickell and TJ King, all 15 and Abi Lloyd, 13 and Ellah Jackson, 11.

Group leader TJ said excitement was building as they prepared for the December 11 gig in Dewsbury.

He said: “We’re friends who formed a group about two months ago.

“We just entered the competition as a joke and we got through.

“We got through to the regional finals and we got put through again.

“It’s all kicking off.

“We’re getting more and more interest.”

The five-strong group are planning to perform a My Chemical Romance song at the Dewsbury Town Hall event.

If they get put through they will be performing in front of celebrity judges including Shola Ama, Dane Bowers and Liz McClarnon at the gigantic O2 Arena in London with the winner taking home a professional recording contract.
