A YOUNG dancer has become a junior associate of the Royal Ballet.
Nine-year-old Sarah Booth, of New Mill, Holmfirth, will attend sessions for a year in Leeds as part of the company's outreach programme.
Sarah, who attends Wooldale Junior School, New Mill, auditioned for a place in May and was chosen from hundreds of young hopefuls.
She has been dancing with the Illingworth School of Theatre Dance in New Mill since she was three.
As well as ballet classes, Sarah attends classes in tap, disco and rock and roll.
Last November she danced with the English Youth Ballet in its production of the Nutcracker.
She is the daughter of Joanne and Graham Booth.
