PROSECUTORS in the trial of a man accused of murdering and dumping a man on moorland were due to start their case today.
Desmond Lee, 39, is charged with killing 51-year-old Christopher Pratt, from Grantham in Lincolnshire.
The body of the father-of-one was discovered by a passerby on moorland off New Hey Road in Scammonden on August 26 last year.
Lee, from Dewsbury, appeared at Leeds Crown Court yesterday afternoon.
He was told that he is charged with murdering Mr Pratt at some point between August 14 and 22.
A jury of five women and seven men was sworn in but legal hold-ups meant prosecutor David Hatton QC had to wait until today to start outlining the case against him.
