BANK customers are being warned to guard against cash point scams.
Lloyds TSB has sent out advice to all its customers with tips on how to stay safe and protect their money at cash machines.
Scams such as tampering with the cash machines and looking over people's shoulders to see the PIN have become more and more common prompting action from the bank.
Thieves have already installed tiny cameras on cash machines in the Huddersfield area to film people typing in their PIN.
This high tech scam is reaping criminals £1m a week across the UK.
A cloning device is also fitted inside the machine to scan the details of the card and then make a copy of it.
Police seized one such device from Asda supermarket in Brighouse in June.
Lloyd's tips include:
* If there is anything unusual about the machine or signs of tampering do not use it and report it immediately.
* Stand close to the machine and shield the keypad.
* Do not accept help from strangers and never allow yourself to be distracted.
