THE details of the plans are still flexible, one of the main men behind the proposals assured people at last night's meeting.

The comment came from Laurance Antill, of Antill Consultants,

He said: "These are just outline schemes. They could all be exciting."

The consultants were put in the hot seat as questions were put through chairman Ken Gillespie, Kirklees Council's director of regeneration.

The mood of the meeting was positive, but everyone felt the proposals were premature.

People felt there should be consultation about what kind of place the public wanted Huddersfield to develop into.

Mr Antill said: "The ideal town has no one hub. We are looking to site attractions around the town."
