A schoolboy has inspired his classmates to wear their onesies for a cause close to his heart.
Ten-year-old Thomas Branch has type 1 diabetes and has to inject insulin himself five times a day.
But despite his condition Thomas is a happy and confident Year 6 pupil at St John’s CE Junior and Infants School, Golcar where, together with his fellow pupils – including Alex Illingworth, who also has diabetes – he has rallied round and hosted a type-onesie day!
Headteacher Kathryn Benford said: “Thomas gave an informative talk complete with a powerpoint presentation to pupils and staff during assembly.
“All 211 pupils have given a donation to wear a onesie on World Diabetes Day.”
Money raised will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Huddersfield diabetic support group.
