A BLAZE has destroyed two buildings at a Huddersfield school.
The fire at Huddersfield Grammar School on Luck Lane, Marsh, began at 8.55pm last night.
Huddersfield firefighters found two 15-metre square prefabricated classrooms well alight.
To stop the fire spreading to the main building they contained the flames with a jet of water.
The Huddersfield firefighters were joined by crews from Elland and Slaithwaite.
Huddersfield Watch Manager Andy Farrell said: "When we arrived the two buildings were well on fire.
"The roofs were already gone and the fire was consuming the classrooms.
"We put a jet between the classrooms and the school to stop the flames spreading.
"The classrooms were totally destroyed."
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
